"Among the three best of the Hamptons, Boxfarm dates to 1683 and is on the list of National Historic Landmarks. Very centrally located, it sits at the center of the six towns that comprise 'the hamptons'. All of its guest rooms are warm and inviting; its grounds are lovely; its fresh, daily full breakfasts..........and a lively 'cocktail hour' complete the picture of a wonderful small inn.

The family that looks after Boxfarm is European, speaks several languages and is a special treat. Quality abounds throughout this lovely B&B. One other thing;.........it is just down the road from the most spectacular beach in the Hamptons. All in all, a joy; we recommend it without reservation."

- Travel and Leisure June 2005

Conde Nast Traveler, Travel and Leisure, NYTimes and others have named Boxfarm among 'the best of the best' of the hamptons. We work to be the best bed and breakfast, the best inn, the best among South Hampton hotels..............and we invite you to visit with us.

By 1900, East Hampton was already a fashionable summer resort, with a thriving business district along its still unpaved Main Street.  But the town has a long history as well. It was settled by a few Southampton families in 1651; in those years important revenues came from the dead whales cast up on its shores. In 1653, Goody Edwards was sentenced to stand with a split stick on her tongue for speaking slander, while Good Farlick was transported to New Haven to be tried for witchcraft.
